The mission of United Good Neighbors of Jefferson County is to lead our community's efforts in improving the quality of life for those in need in Jefferson County.

That's a huge goal—one we can't achieve without the support of our generous neighbors here in Jefferson County.

Our plan is to:

• Increase United Good Neighbors' visibility in Jefferson County.
• Identify the most pressing critical human service needs.
• Determine that basic needs are met through development of an annual strategy to match a "Safety Net" objective to available allocations.
• Select the most pressing community needs that should be impacted by funding to available programs (Community Impact Model).
• Match community needs to available programs and services (Programs Assessment) and use our position in the community to assist in filling gaps.
• Conduct an annual fund raising campaign to meet the board's goal.
• Ensure the effectiveness of the allocation process.
• Quantitatively and qualitatively measure the impact of the Safety Net and Community Impact models.

United Good Neighbors Legacy Fund allows caring individuals a way to strengthen local nonprofit agencies and give to their neighbors in need, in perpetuity. Monies donated to the Fund stay in the Fund; only its earnings are distributed.

Prior to this, no vehicle existed for those who wanted to leave a lasting legacy to UGN without creating their own family or business foundation. The Fund allows for ease of giving, while maintaining the same tax benefits afforded to all UGN supporters.
