United Good Neighbors of Jefferson County reached our 2009/10 goal to raise $250,000! Thank you to the numerous businesses, organizations, and individuals for your generosity!
In 2008, United Good Neighbors
of Jefferson County (UGN) allocated $243,000 to 34 local programs that
serve 7,000 Jefferson County residents. These are your neighbors. We
are a
better
community
when neighbor
helps neighbor. We are a better society when we see a need and choose
to help.
Since 1957, UGN has
been helping the less fortunate. As you well know, UGN is the only
united giving campaign in Jefferson County.
What
you may not know is this…in 2008:
 234 low-income elders and disabled adults received help to
stay in their homes.- 88 young girls participated in summer camp
- 256 residents were helped with primary health care
- 289 families received heating, mortgage and rental assistance during the winter
- 200-plus Jefferson County residents received oral health care
- 23% of the food bank budget was supported by UGN
- After-school programs provided safe places for children
- Winter homeless shelter was able to operate for 100 days
 United Good Neighbors supports local people through hard
times. Participation from more households is a key to helping our neighbors
in need. If
