In February United Ways of Washington hosted a legislative reception and lobby day in Olympia. It was a great opportunity for us to network with local United Way organizations while working together on our common policy agenda to reduce childhood hunger and increase access to early learning.
We partnered with Washington Nonprofits, Philanthropy Northwest and the Boeing Company to host a reception in the governor’s mansion with over 200 United Way staff and volunteers, funders, advocates, lawmakers and staff from across Washington. We were joined by Governor Inslee and the First Lady who commented on how important the nonprofit sector is to the Washington economy.
