United Ways of Washington is an Association made up of the 27 local United Ways in the state of Washington with its Board of Directors made up of the executive directors of the 27 local United Ways. Board meetings are held four times a year. The organization is managed by a President/CEO.
The Association does not serve as a grant-making or fundraising organization. If however, donations are given, they are deposited into a special account and used to assist the local United Ways as they address human service needs throughout the state of Washington.
Its primary mission is to assist and benefit United Way member organizations on matters of regional and statewide significance and to help United Way member organizations accomplish their mission of helping people care for one another in their communities.
Public Policy
UWWA engages in public policy activity, focusing on strengthening the state's Early Care and Education system, securing sustainable funding for a statewide 211 system and financial stability.

Grants through the United Way of America have led to increased focus on engaging business leaders in supporting Early Learning as well as linking with nationwide child welfare efforts through the Strengthening Families Project.
